Supply chain reporting: is extra work involved?

If your organisation chose to report according to GRI guidelines, one of your staff members would be collecting on-site impact information. If you wanted to report on additional indirect, upstream impacts using the BottomLine3 software underpinned by ISA methodology, what other information would you need to gather? Because indirect upstream impacts are embodied in your organisations’ purchases, the ISA software requires your organisation’s expenditure and revenue accounts. Firms generate these accounts and balance sheets already on an annual basis, so that there is no additional data collection effort. Organisational financial data is the input from which the BottomLine3 software calculates your Triple Bottom Line account for your sustainability report.

The output of the BottomLine3 software are diagrams and tables which form the backbone of a comprehensive sustainability report across a wide range of indicators, including aggregate figures, detailed breakdowns and rankings of indicators into supply chain contributions.
